The Arizona Chapter of
The Fulbright Association
The Field Trip to the Tumacacori Mission Ruins
In March 2003, a small group of Fulbrighters − including Chapter members and some of the international Visiting Scholars at UA − bussed to the ruins of the Tumacacori Mission near Amado, AZ. The mission was built originally by Father Eusabio Kino, S.J., as one of the chain of missions (including Tucson's Mission San Xavier del Bac) he had constructed, beginning at Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico, and working up through the Santa Cruz River Valley.
